frequently asked questions.

What is a Registered Dietitian (RD) and how are they different from other nutrition coaches?

A Registered Dietitian (RD) is a regulated health professional with a comprehensive university degree in dietetics, nutrition, or a related field, followed by supervised practical training. In Canada, RDs must pass a national exam and register with a provincial regulatory body. They adhere to strict ethical standards and engage in continuous professional development to maintain their competence. Unlike other nutrition coaches, RDs are qualified to provide medical nutrition therapy and evidence-based advice for managing health conditions. Their regulated status ensures accountability and the highest standard of care. To learn more about the work of Registered Dietitians, visit the Dietitians of Canada website linked here.

Why do I have to book a discovery call?

Discovery calls are a way to ease the process of scheduling a full appointment. This initial call allows us to get to know each other better before committing to a comprehensive assessment. It's an opportunity for you to share your health goals, concerns, and preferences in a relaxed setting. This approach ensures that you feel comfortable and confident in our partnership. We use this time to discuss how I can best support you and ensure that my services align with your needs. Together, we can determine the next steps towards achieving your health and nutrition goals effectively.

Do I have to book a full assessment initially, or can I just book a follow-up appointment?

All new clients must book a full nutrition assessment prior to scheduling a follow-up appointment.

Do you offer direct billing to insurance companies?

No, we do not offer direct billing to insurance companies. However, we provide detailed invoices that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Please check with your insurance company to understand your coverage and reimbursement process.
